The charity received funding and support from Ulster Garden Villages Ltd. and Dungannon and South Tyrone Borough Council Legacy fund to purchase a vehicle and exhibution unit from Saltmarine Cars which we sourced and converted via our friends at Premier Vehicle Solutions.
The result is a fantastic van and trailer unit which the charity are planning to make full use of by visiting farmers markets, schools and sporting clubs and events to promote the foundation and engage with the local rural community in providing outreach support, mentoring and communication on suicide awareness and prevention.
The launch event on 20th March 2015 was attended by Health Minister Jim Wells who praised the new initiative saying, “I want people to respond to their mental health in the same way as they view physical health and access to the right support at the right time can prevent suicide. This new mobile therapy and intervention unit will contribute greatly to suicide prevention in the Tyrone and Armagh areas by providing support right to the heart of local communities. The Niamh Louise Foundation is to be commended for its dedication and contribution to suicide prevention.”
We are so proud to be a part of this worthwhile charity and cause and have no doubt that the vehicle and trailer unit will be put to good use to save lives.
