IONIQ 5 is built upon Hyundai's dedicated BEV (Battery Electric Vehicle) architecture enabling it to have unique proportions on an elongated wheelbase similar to the likes of the size of cars as big as the Audi A8. This is the first model to sit under the new IONIQ brand, which has been created specifically for Hyundai’s electric vehicle range and will be followed by the IONIQ 6 sedan, in 2022, and the IONIQ 7 large SUV, in 2024.
"Onto a WINNER"
New Hyundai IONIQ 5 achieves 4 Auto Express New Car Awards including overall "Car of the Year award"
The exterior of the Hyundai IONIQ 5 is characterised by sharp, clean lines and cutting-edge angles. It looks sophisticated from any angle, with a sleek profile and geometric styling accents. The 'Parametric Pixel' lights front and back make sure the IONIQ 5 stands out from the crowd day or night.
Special attention has been paid to aerodynamics to reduce energy consumption. The clamshell bonnet reduces panel gaps and the 20-inch aero-optimised alloy wheels echo the overall design and aid airflow. The flush door handles give a smooth sleek look and extend automatically when required while reducing drag while the car is moving.
Spacious Sustainable Living
Welcome to a completely whole new in-car experience like no other. The batteries housed under the floor pan create not only a lower centre of gravity but a larger flat floor. With highly adjustable front seats that can be fully reclined, and a flexible centre console that can be moved throughout the cabin, make for an extraordinary experience for all passengers.
It's not only the cabin of the IONIQ 5 that's spacious. The boot delivers 531 litres of space as standard, which can be expanded to a colossal 1,600 litres with the 60/40 split rear seats folded flat. There's also up to 57 litres of additional storage space in the car's "frunk" under the bonnet.
Wide-screen digital cockpit
The 12.3” infotainment screen is seamlessly integrated with the 12.3” cluster for a high-tech look that comes standard – for easy access to all driving, safety and infotainment functions.
Further Sustainability
Environmentally friendly materials are used extensively in the IONIQ 5, like eco-processed leather and recycled yarn. What’s more, raw materials extracted from sugar cane are used on the headliner, carpet and seat covers. A solution that is both recyclable and beautiful.
The IONIQ 5 is available with two battery capacity options: 58kWh or 72.6kWh - The larger battery gives the IONIQ 5 a range of up to 300 miles* on a single charge making the IONIQ 5 a true long-range cruiser.
When you need to recharge, the IONIQ 5 can take advantage of 800-volt charging for ultra-fast recharging speeds. Which means when connected to a 350kW charger, the battery can be recharged from 10-80% in only 18 minutes. Or a short charge of only 5 minutes will give you a handy 60 miles of range.
The innovative Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality means that the IONIQ 5 can be used to power or charge a range of electrical equipment such as laptops, electric bikes, scooters, or camping equipment. There is a port located under the rear seats that can be used while the vehicle is on, with an exterior charging port that can be used when the vehicle is turned off.
Like every Hyundai, the IONIQ 5 is built to the highest possible quality standards and it comes with a 5 year unlimited mileage warranty as well as an 8 year battery warranty for complete peace of mind.
